When shopping at the mall, most people would not expect to be shot at. However, this occurred recently in Atlanta and a man that has been accused of that shooting is facing criminal charges, though it appears his motive for the incident is unknown at this time.
A shooting took place last month at a mall in Atlanta where one person was killed and another injured. The 32-year-old man who was arrested for the shooting has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. If he were found guilty, it is likely the man could face significant long-term consequences. Yet, police at this time seem to be unable to identify a motive behind the man’s alleged rampage. On top of this, authorities are unsure whether the shooting involved more than one person.
Any criminal charges that include a felony, such as murder, should always be taken seriously. A vigorous legal advocate would ensure that any holes in the prosecution’s case are pointed out to a jury. Further, a defense attorney will bring forth appropriate defenses to the accusation. For example, if the accused has an alibi for the time of the shooting that confirms he could not have been the gunman, his legal advocate will ensure a jury hears the alibi. Additionally, if there is a lack of motive, as is the case presently, the fact that the man would have no reason to commit the crime should be made immensely clear in the court room.
Any type of felony charges should always be taken seriously and help should be sought out immediately. With the proper assistance, many charges can be mitigated or thrown out entirely.
