A Fierce Advocate For Your Future

7 Georgia teens facing criminal charges for murder, robbery

A handful of Georgia teens have their future on the line following the filing of criminal allegations against them. The criminal charges include accusations that the teens were involved in a robbery and subsequent death of a 68-year-old man. At least some of the seven charged teens are still students in high school, the youngest of whom is 17 years old.

In early July 2015, the group is believed to have stolen various items from an area home, including electronics and firearms. That alleged occurrence was supposedly their first act of the day, and the teens are accused of using those stolen firearms during a second incident. Police suspect that the firearms might have been stolen with the intent of robbing the second home.

However, when the group approached the home, the father of the homeowner confronted them. According to reports, both the father and group of teens then fired at one another. None of the young men accused of being involved in the incident were injured, but the homeowner’s father suffered from a gunshot wound that ultimately proved to be fatal.

A conviction for serious criminal charges has the power to completely alter the course of an individual’s future, and as such, defendants might be well-advised to begin preparing to handle these charges in as timely a manner as possible. Since there is no one right way to deal with criminal accusations, it is typically advisable for defendants to thoroughly review all related evidence to their charges alongside their defense counsel. By doing so, most defendants in Georgia find that they can best determine whether to negotiate a plea deal or proceed to trial on the merits of the charges.
