“Hired Matt Hirsch at a distance to take on a traffic case with a missed mandatory court appearance (or two). Even as the case dragged on longer than anticipated (not the fault in any way of the lawyer), and indeed went a couple rounds, Mr. Hirsch remained engaged, positive, and proactive. I firmly believe he and his firm resolved my case with the best outcome for me. Would recommend Cohen & Hirsch for cases of my type without reservation, and his working for me at a fairly great distance, without my ever appearing back in state, deserves particular note”

“Matt was great. The day I called him he jumped right in and a week later charges were dropped! He’s my guy here on out. Not to mention he saved me 3k from the first firm I called.”

“Matt was a great treasure! Always kept calm and let me be the same. Looking at his fb feed, I was convinced he’s the right person for me. Helped get through a difficult situation. His fees were also comparable to the others given the amount of personal attention he paid to the case. Never had the trouble of dealing with the paralegals(as we all know what happens). He was always available on text. Great experience!!”

Burnt-out tag light leads to drug charges for woman in Georgia

On Behalf of | Sep 6, 2017 | Drug Charges |

There are numerous circumstances that can lead a law enforcement agent in Georgia or elsewhere to initiate a traffic stop. While commonly associated with speeding or reckless driving, these can also occur due to a burnt-out or busted headlight. While the latter may only lead to a verbal warning and request to fix the issue, if authorities become suspicious of criminal activity, an individual could soon be facing drug charges.

A 50-year-old woman has recently been arrested under similar circumstances after the vehicle she was in was stopped in relation to a burnt-out tag light. Upon obtaining her identification, the officer claims to have noticed that she was the subject of an active warrant. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle from the driver, authorities allegedly uncovered the presence of methamphetamine and ecstasy, along with multiple syringes.

Authorities assert the woman claimed ownership of the drugs, and she was taken into custody. No information was given as to why the woman was asked to provide identification during the traffic stop, as she was reportedly a passenger in the vehicle at the time. She is facing multiple drug charges in relation to the search and would face severe consequences if a conviction is obtained.

Those accused of drug charges may find it beneficial to know and understand that they have rights that must be upheld in the process. When facing a similar circumstance, an individual could choose to speak with a defense attorney for assistance in ensuring that his or her rights were not violated in any way. An attorney can thoroughly examine the situation, including the procedures used during arrest, and provide a client in Georgia with advice on the best course of action to take during legal proceedings.
