Criminal defense: Driver cited following Dekalb crash

Drivers often experience unexpected events while driving, and sometimes, things happen so quickly that they have no chance to react. As a result, even the safest of drivers in Dekalb can become involved in an accident with serious consequences. In fact, one woman is likely focused on her criminal defense after police say she was involved in a fatal accident.

The incident happened one afternoon on a day in late February. According to reports, a driver attempted a left turn out of a grocery store parking lot. Unfortunately, the vehicle allegedly struck one of two pedestrians in a crosswalk.

As the pedestrian suffered several cuts, she was transported to the doctor. Unfortunately, she ultimately passed away, apparently due to internal injuries. The driver claims that she did not see the pedestrians. She has since been cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. It is unclear if additional charges are expected to be filed.

Unfortunately, every driver in Dekalb has likely experienced a moment in which they did not notice a hazard in the road. This occurs for a variety of different reasons, often through no fault of the driver. While a death is always tragic, the driver is also likely facing an uncertain future as a result of the accident. Consequently, she may choose to seek guidance from a criminal defense attorney to help her deal with the legal consequences of the accident. Such a professional can help a person accused or suspected of a crime have confidence in the decisions they make.
