The procedures used during the search of an individual who is suspected of a crime are often highly debated topics. Every person across the country has rights which cannot be violated in this process. Similar searches have led to the arrest of countless individuals over the years. A man in Georgia has recently been arrested and is facing multiple drug charges following a similar incident in the parking lot of a pool.

According to reports, an officer was patrolling the area when he noticed a car that was parked in the lot of a subdivision’s pool. The officer claims that the headlights were on, prompting him to pull over and question the driver. Upon approach, the officer claims to have caught the scent of marijuana, which led to a call for backup and a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Police claim that the search uncovered various amounts of marijuana, cocaine and LSD. Further search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered various narcotics and drug paraphernalia, including methamphetamine. The man is now facing charges for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, methamphetamine and LSD, along with charges for drug trafficking. He reportedly remains in custody on account of the no-bond policy that accompanies cocaine trafficking charges.

Drug charges of this nature are severe, and a subsequent conviction would likely have a devastating impact on the future of the accused. When facing similar charges, individuals reserve the right to seek legal counsel for guidance and assistance throughout the process. A defense attorney in Georgia can thoroughly examine all evidence against an individual, inform him or her of the possible outcome, and advise him or her on how to pursue the best outcome possible during proceedings.
