“Hired Matt Hirsch at a distance to take on a traffic case with a missed mandatory court appearance (or two). Even as the case dragged on longer than anticipated (not the fault in any way of the lawyer), and indeed went a couple rounds, Mr. Hirsch remained engaged, positive, and proactive. I firmly believe he and his firm resolved my case with the best outcome for me. Would recommend Cohen & Hirsch for cases of my type without reservation, and his working for me at a fairly great distance, without my ever appearing back in state, deserves particular note”

“Matt was great. The day I called him he jumped right in and a week later charges were dropped! He’s my guy here on out. Not to mention he saved me 3k from the first firm I called.”

“Matt was a great treasure! Always kept calm and let me be the same. Looking at his fb feed, I was convinced he’s the right person for me. Helped get through a difficult situation. His fees were also comparable to the others given the amount of personal attention he paid to the case. Never had the trouble of dealing with the paralegals(as we all know what happens). He was always available on text. Great experience!!”

Georgia roommate disagreement results in felony charges

On Behalf of | Feb 19, 2018 | Felonies |

Anyone who has lived with roommates in Georgia is likely aware of the conflicts that can arise from such an arrangement. Even people who live together who normally get along really well can sometimes become embroiled in a disagreement. Although these arguments rarely result in violence, one man now faces felony charges after police say he attacked three others.

The incident allegedly began as conflict between roommates on a night in early February. Police claim that a 23-year-old man attacked three people with a knife. One of the alleged victims was transported to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening while the other two declined medical treatment.

Police further argue that the man believed to have been behind the knife attack did not comply with officers’ requests, resulting in the use of a Taser against him. After he was transported to the hospital for evaluation, the young man was then taken to jail. He faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.

Unfortunately, many of the details related to the events that led to felony charges against the Georgia man are unclear, including the nature of the alleged disagreement. In order to convict someone of a criminal charge, there must be sufficient evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt — a standard that is often difficult to meet. To help ensure that their best interests are met, many people accused of felonies often seek guidance from an attorney who has experience with such cases.
